Match report by William Okafor-Oregan
Bayern's goal-scoring extraordinaire Robert Lewandowski, made Champions League history by scoring the quickest hat-trick in the competition's history. Bayern's emphatic win secured their place in this season's Quarter-finals.
Bayern had taken control of the game very quickly by scoring by two penalties within the opening 20 minutes with Lewandowski sending the keeper the wrong way both times.
The lethal striker then wrapped up his hat-trick only minutes later when he was on the receiving end of a lucky deflection off Salzburg's keeper, which allowed him to guide the ball into an empty net.
Serge Gnabry slotted Bayern's fourth on the half-hour mark after Salzburg recklessly lost possession just outside their own box.

In the second half, Thomas Muller twice finished off silky team moves, either side of Salzburg's solitary goal scored by young Mauritz Kjeargaard, when they caught Bayern on the break.
Leroy Sane fired in the last goal late on, speedily latching onto Lewandowski's seamless back-heel pass then unleashed a thunderbolt past a helpless Philipp Kohn.
