A brace from Mohamed Salah helped Liverpool keep pace in the title race as Everton slumped to yet another defeat in the Premier League.
Liverpool had been knocking on Everton's door in the first few minutes but they couldn't be kept out for much longer. Captain Jordan Henderson opened the scoring with a curled first-time strike on the edge of the box.
The away side doubled their lead soon after, with Salah racing away to Henderson's threaded through pass which he expertly curled past Jordan Pickford.
Everton responded by raising their tempo and pulled a goal back. Demarai Gray slotted a shot through Alisson's legs from close range to cut the deficit.

But later on Everton undid all their good work. Salah capitalised on Seamus Coleman's awkward attempt to control the ball and sped half the length of the pitch before coolly stroking a low shot into the Everton net.
Diogo Jota put the Toffees out of their misery with a brilliant deft touch to get past Alan before whacking the ball into the roof of the net.
This loss for Everton means they are winless in their last eight games.
